An Afternoon of Croquet, Sunday 27th July

One again we were at Downham Croquet Club, Stow Bardolph where eleven members met Jonathan Toye, hosting our afternoon. The weather was cloudy but warm.

We divided into five pairs with one member observing. We played a game called croquet golf. Jonathan explained the format and some tactics. It was fun, frustrating at times when hitting the ball watching it go too far, not far enough or in a totally different direction! The winners after three games played were Caroline and Andy.

At the end several members adjourned to the recently opened Fork Candles for cake and tea.

An enjoyable relaxing afternoon in the pleasant, peaceful grounds of Stow Hall gardens.
