Burns Evening

 

Thirty-five members and friends attended a very enjoyable traditional evening celebrating Robbie Burns Birthday. John and Maureen Taylor had prepared the tables in Hall splendidly with placemats of Robbie’s poem to the Haggis and fairy lights in bottles , prepared the main meal assisted by Hilary and Howard. The dessert was trifle, prepared by Denise Whiley. It was delicious.

The Haggis was piped in and Bill Bower, resplendent in Scottish dress read the Burns Night poem address to the Haggis, we toasted the Haggis with a shot of whisky before the meal was served of Haggis, neeps and tatties.

A raffle was held.

John, Maureen, Hilary, Howard, Bill and Denise were thanked for their work for the evening.
