Christmas Social

Friday December 8th

A very enjoyable evening was had by the thirty members and friends who came to the Church Hall for our Christmas Social. There was a welcoming warm feel of Christmas with a tree in the one corner and tables with cloths. In the background French accordion music played. Many wore Christmas jumpers and festive dress; one member had a beret with lights on.

No charge was made for the evening but members were asked to bring a plate of food to share and the table was laden with a variety of tempting fayre.

A raffle was held to cover the cost of the hire of the hall and again a vast variety of raffle prizes, donated by members which included, chocolates, shortbreads and a splendid Christmas decoration.

John had prepared a table top fun quiz with twenty questions. Ten with a French theme and ten on Christmas songs and carols. Caroline Cotterell came top with 19 out of 20 correct. I managed eleven, the French part seven correct but the carols and songs questions I knew but eluded answers to me.

Thank you to all who contributed to the evening. It was wonderful and a great atmosphere.
