Xmas Train Trip

              Norfolk Lights Express

On Monday 20th December the minibus left the Heritage Centre at 4.30 pm with 11 Twinning Members on board, making a stop at East Winch to pick up one more we made our way to Daves Fish Restaurant in Sheringham where we all enjoyed a slightly hurried but still very nice meal, some members even celebrated the occasion by having a glass of wine !

The minibus returned to collect us to take us the short distance to Sheringham Station where we boarded the 7.30pm train to Holt.

The engine and carriages were all lit up and decorated in a most festive fashion.

With a cheery whistle from the guard the train left promptly for the 30 minutes trip, we admired along the way the portions of decorated embankments and illuminated scenes in the fields and trackside woods.

We arrived at Holt and some got off in the light drizzle to stretch our legs for 15 minutes while the engine was disconnected and steamed to the other end of the carriages ready to haul us back to Sheringham then it was reboarding  the minibus for the drive return to Downham Market where we arrived about 10.30pm after a tiring but most enjoyable trip to start the Christmas week.
