Afternoon Tea

Twelve members met for a social afternoon. The venue for our afternoon tea was The Green House at the Downham Home and Garden Store.

There was plenty to eat, several members took home scones and cakes they couldn’t manage.

We had a selection of sandwiches, a scone with jam and clotted cream, a piece of a large sausage roll, half of a scotch egg, a chocolate brownie, a flapjack, lemon posset. The Eton mess (which was very sweet) and tea.

It was sociable afternoon but it wasn’t the best afternoon tea we had had and couldn’t be described as finesse.
